FAQ

Patterns: before purchasing

▶ How do you grade your patterns ? Are they size inclusive ?

Most of my patterns are made to measures, which means that you will measure your body, and calculate the number of stitches accordingly. The patterns contain personnalisation indications, if you like oversized or super fitting clothes for examples. You won't have to match a size or a gauge, and most of the time you can use any yarn you want. This allows the pattern to be fitting for every size and body shape, and to adapt perfectly to your own measures.
- The hat patterns though, are often one size, made for a specific hook & yarn size. They do contain explanations on how to make them more fitted to your head measures though, so no worries if you have a big or small head !

▶ How can I know if I'm a beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert ?
  • Beginner: little to no experience, know how to read crochet "phrases", basic stitches, basic increase and decrease, counting rows, weaving in your ends.
  • Intermediate: Some more experience in reading patterns, knowing how to read crochet charts.
  • Advanced: Knowing how to make small adjustments to your size, more difficult stitches. The advanced projects can be longer, and require more focus, like counting stitches a lot.
  • Expert: Major size changes, calculating increases and decreases depending on your measures, tailored pieces, and very long projects.
▶ Are your patterns written in US or UK terms ?

My patterns are written in US terms. In the long term, I plan to have them translated to French as well.

▶ Will you be mad if I modify your design ?

My patterns are made to give you the grounds to create something that is entirely yours. If you want to change the sleeves, add a border, modify the pattern in any way, please do so ! I'm all about letting your creativity flow, think of my patterns as a tool to create your own desings !

Patterns: after purchasing

▶ What if I don't understand a part of your pattern ?

Please use the contact form, and explain where is your issue.
The more details you provide, the easiest it is for me to help you ! Please don't send just a "I don't understand the pattern, can you explain more ?", I put my soul into writing these patterns with all of the best explanations I could write, and it's been tested by 10-20 people each. The patterns can still contain some small mistakes or parts that are less easy to understand, but I'll need to know where exactly is your problem. Please do not send me an help message on Instagram. I receive a lot of messages there, story replies, etc, and your request might get lost in the flow.

▶ Are there additionnal videos to help me understand the pattern ?

Most of my patterns do not come with videos explanations. If I make a tutorial, or if there is a linked video, it will be written with a link to the video in my pattern.

▶ Can I sell physical pieces made using your patterns ?

Absolutely ! (but not for mass-production)

▶ Can I make a video tutorial of your patterns ?

Nope. My patterns are protected with copyright, and this will be considered as copyright infringement, and therefore illegal.

▶ Can I resell your patterns ?

Absolutely not. My patterns are protected with copyright, and any reselling is illegal. You can only order them from my own shops -my website, Etsy and Ko-fi pages. If you happen to find someone reselling my patterns, please let me know via my contact form. Be careful with resellers too: by downloading their products, you migth get scammed with a non-existant file or computer virus.

▶ Can I send you a picture of my finished piece using your pattern ?

I love to see your creations ! Please tag me on Instagram, this is the easiest way for me to see your pictures !

Orders & refunds

▶ How will I receive the pattern I purchased ?

You will receive a separate email with a download link. Check your spam inbox too, it might get stuck in there !

▶ Will I receive the updated patterns if you make changes ?

Absolutely, you will receive a download link again with the updated pattern. I'm always trying to improve my patterns, so they might get a few updates or reworks. This is valid on my website only, not on Etsy or Kofi.

▶ What can I do if I misspelled my adress email on my order ?

Please use the contact form, with your full name, and order number, and I will send you the pattern you ordered via email as soon as possible (usually 24-48hours).

▶ Can you refund my purchase ?

I do not offer returns on crochet patterns, as they are digital products that cannot be returned.

▶ Do you accept commissions, or make custom orders ?

I do not sell any physical or custom made products.

Testing

▶ How can I apply to be a tester ?

I post public tester calls on my Instagram page (@iriecchi_) and on the news channel on the same IG page. When a tester call is posted, I wait a few days before closing the applications and reviewing them, but the process is often really quick.

▶ What are you looking for when picking testers ?

Depending on the pattern that's being tested, I might have some particular criteria (always written in the testing call, like your crochet level), but most of the time these are my main requirements:
A public IG account dedicated to crochet (I never accept private accounts, nor accounts not related to crochet)
Clear pictures (usually I go to daylight pictures, showing the whole pieces or details)
A variety of sizes and body shapes.
- I do not care about your follower count.
